The Rescued Baby Cow Enjoys Sleeping On The Dog Bed

The ill and hungry 2-week-old calf She needed a new home after being taken into custody after an inquiry into animal abuse.

Carly Henry thought she sounded ideal when she first heard about her. Henry told The Dodo, “I was ready to adopt her.” “All I wanted was a cow!” People have told me that loving a cow is the finest thing ever.”

Carly’s Critter Camp, an animal refuge south of Austin, Texas, is operated by Henry. She has rescued a variety of animals on her farm, but this calf, at such a young age, would require continual attention.

She’d have to live with Henry’s dogs, cats, and… her husband at Henry’s home near the sanctuary.

As a result, that section required some persuasion. I mean, what’s another four-legged creature in need?

“I told my spouse, ‘Hey, look at this baby,'” she explained. Henry remarked. “I showed him a photo of the calf at the foster’s place, all wrapped up in blankets.” “I really want to take her and bottle-feed her!” I exclaimed.

Tulip got along swimmingly with Henry’s other pets, and she quickly made herself at home on the dogs’ beds.

“From the beginning, she’d come straight inside, investigate, and sleep right next us in our room,” Henry explained.

Tulip tested out every dog bed at Henry’s house, and most of the time she just got cozy and snuggled up with the dogs.

Henry’s spouse was amused by the calf’s quick adaptation to home life and their family. He captured Tulip snuggling on one of the beds on film, and you can sense his delight in his voice: “Just a newborn calf in our bedroom…”

Henry continued to bottle-feed Tulip and lavish her with love and care as the months passed. Tulip had been unwell with pneumonia when she was taken from her first home, but she was getting better every day. “She’s doing great,” Henry remarked.

Tulip still reminds her to eat when Henry is weaning her off the bottle. “Every several hours, she wants to be fed. Because I can hear her mooing, I know. Henry explained, “I’m on this cow’s timetable.”

Tulip has evolved into the farm’s social butterfly. All of the other rescued animals have become her buddies.

Tulip is also ecstatic when groups of youngsters come to the refuge.

“She’s fantastic with the kids,” Henry said. “They adore her and hug her.” When she was smaller, they’d assist bottle-feed her; she’s the loveliest thing ever.”

So, how does Henry feel today about the advice she received before adopting Tulip, that “loving a cow is the finest thing ever”?

Henry said, “Oh my god, it’s true.” “I’m in love with her much too much, way too much.” She’s larger and healthier now. When she initially arrived, I was quite concerned about her safety. “Words can’t express how much I adore her.”
