Snail Is Patiently Waiting For The Veterinarian To Repair His Broken Shell

For some others, the existence of a single small snail in the world may be insignificant, yet it means everything to him. Thankfully, there are still those out there who see that he is worth rescuing – no matter how difficult that effort may be at times.

And we’re confident that this patient agrees with us.

The modest garden snail was recently provided life-saving treatment by veterinarians from the HaClinica animal hospital in Tel Aviv, Israel, after a tragedy in a local woman’s yard: she’d accidentally walked on him, cracking his delicate shell.

Rather than abandoning the snail in his unexpectedly destroyed house, the woman hurried him to seek the assistance he need.

Fortunately, the employees at HaClinica were not unconcerned about the snail’s predicament.

Vets chronicled how they went about putting the shell back together, piece by piece, in a sequence of photographs uploaded on the clinic’s Facebook page.

Even the “naked” snail was present during the surgery, quietly witnessing the meticulous procedure and making no complaints about their approach.

“We require a mix of patience and finesse with epoxy glue for the shattered shell,” the clinic stated, as translated by Israeli site From The Grapevine. “We make certain that the glue does not penetrate the inner patch and remains outside the shell.”

The clinic’s attempts to help its slimy patient were successful.

It might take a few weeks, or even months, for the snail to fully recuperate, according to HaClinica, but by the looks of it, he’s already on top of it.
